D241: Learn to Draw (OS641)

Drawing & Painting

10 credits (Applied Arts)

Learn step-by-step through practical exercises to create accurate and expressive freehand drawings and produce a sketchbook of your work. Start with two-dimensional line, pattern and shape to three-dimensional form, tone, texture and perspective. Practise with still life, landscape, and life drawing using a variety of techniques and media. Student-centred learning begins with a short talk, a possible demonstration, followed by a supervised exercise. Lose your fears! An excellent foundation for further drawing or painting with your chosen medium.

Fee includes cost of a professional model. Students are responsible for purchasing their own materials.
