Age-Friendly University Global network and CLL is delighted to welcome Professor Cathy Eden from ASU’s College of Public Programs. Prior to this role, she was Director of Ramsey Executive Education Program at ASU and Director of four large State agencies and advisor to four Governors in the state of Arizona. Her talk will address the demographic challenges facing the USA. How similar are these to the UK? How are these being tackled in policy and what are the implications for American society and politics? Is anyone recognising the contribution that older people make to the economy and society? What did the Obama administration do to address this? What about Trump? All these questions will be addressed and you will have the opportunity to pose your own during the Q&A session which will follow the presentation. The event will be chaired by Professor Thomas J. Scotto, Head of the School of Government and Public Policy. His research focuses on voting behaviour and public opinion towards foreign policy. His recent work focuses on value divides and how they influence attitudes towards international affairs and voter choice in the United States and the United Kingdom.
