D840: The nearest run thing. Battle of Waterloo, 1815 (online via Zoom)

History

If it is true that England and France have been at war virtually non-stop since the battle of Angicourt (1415), one cannot fail to acknowledge that the perennial Anglo-French enmity reached a climactic point with the battle of Waterloo. What happened on that faithful 18th June on the slopes of Mont-Saint-Jean in modern-day Belgium? To what extent did the Prussians contribute to the outcome of the battle? This workshop intends to offer a consistent and analytical account of the events on the battlefield which led to the demise of Napoleon and to the crowning of the Duke of Wellington as the sole peace restorer in Europe. No previous knowledge required.
