D305: Introduction to Botanical Painting (OS197)

Botanical Drawing & Painting

10 credits (Applied Arts)

An introduction to watercolour techniques to render natural forms accurately (including tone, pattern and texture). Suitable for beginners in painting, although some experience in drawing is useful. Undertake practical exercises in watercolour painting to aid learning, and watch regular demonstrations in accurate colour mixing and step-by-step guides to creating; a botanical painting. Gain confidence and understanding in painting precise and aesthetically-pleasing work.

Please note there is no class meeting on Wednesday 29 May, the class schedule has been extended to make up for this. Please also note the final 2 class meetings (5 & 12 June) will be held in the Centre for Lifelong Learning, room GH322, level 3 of the Graham Hills Building at 40 George Street, Glasgow G1 1QE. Students are responsible for purchasing their own materials.
