History
On 11 September 2001, the study of terrorism shot from a relatively niche activity in academic research to a top national government priority. Over the past fifteen years, the US government alone has funded researchers tens of millions of dollars to study how and why people become terrorists, and how states can stay secure from terrorism threats. Therefore, the ‘Global War on Terror’ has cost an enormous price in money and blood. Scholarly literature worldwide on terrorism and counterterrorism has blossomed. Learn through lecture, class discussion and an analysis of primary sources.
This class commencement has been postponed from 14th to 21st January 2020.
These classes are aimed at those aged 50 and over.
