D812: The Italian Book Group - Beginners (online via Zoom)

Do you like reading? Is Italian your favourite language? If the answer is yes, join this group. Over monthly meetings read and discuss different books. This gives you the opportunity to practise Italian and discuss the work in a relaxed atmosphere. There are discussions, group work and paired exercises. You will have the necessary skills if you have completed 'Italian 1A/1B' or equivalent.

The books the group will discuss are Indagine a Firenze + cd by Andrea Gerini / ISBN: 9788853014337 (15 October), La vicina di casa + cd by M.G. Di Bernardo / ISBN: 9788853012265 (12 November), Mio marito L’altra famiglia by D.Maraini / ISBN: 9788723512260 (10 December), Le città impossibili + online mp3 audio by M.Sandrini /ISBN: 9788861823716 (14 January), La festa dell’ uva + online mp3 audio by S.Nanetti / ISBN: 9788416057030 (11 February), La collana longobarda + cd by M.G. Di Bernardo / ISBN: 9788853010407 (11 March), Il drappo scomparso + online mp3 audio by S.G.Scarso /ISBN: 9788416057016 (8 April) and La rossa +online mp3 audio by G.Ducci / ISBN: 9788861823709 (6 May). It is advisable to purchase the books together from the Italian bookshop website in case they go out of stock. Each book (acquired independently) needs to be read in advance of the online session. Please note all books are graded according to the European Language framework. 

Students are responsible for purchasing their own materials.
