Literature
Explore Oscar Wilde's classic, and controversial, novel, The Picture of Dorian Gray. Tracing the moral decay of its eponymous protagonist, and as part of the Aesthetic Movement, the novel questions if there is such a thing as an immoral book, or does a well-written novel exist only as 'art for art's sake'? Delve into the novel through mini lectures, close readings and small and large group discussions.
All reading excerpts will be provided online, however it may be useful to obtain a copy of the text.
