Drawing & Painting, **NEW for Academic Year 2026-2027**
This class is designed for students with prior experience who want to expand their drawing into a more creative and exploratory practice. Using a wide range of media—including charcoal, conté, pen and wash, and mixed approaches—you'll experiment with different ways of interpreting what you see. Projects will encourage you to move beyond straightforward observation, exploring mark-making, composition, and expressive use of materials. Working from varied subject matter, you'll tackle challenges such as perspective, structure, and organic forms, while developing a more personal and confident approach to drawing. Ideal for those ready to loosen up their work and use drawing as a tool for creative exploration. This class includes one life drawing session and a meet at Kelvingrove Art Gallery.
Fee includes cost of a professional model. Students are responsible for purchasing their own materials.
The Kelvingrove Museum meeting (Argyle Street, Glasgow, G3 8AG) will take place on week 10, from 11.00-13.00. Please meet at 11am in the foyer, under the pipe organ.
These classes are aimed at those aged 50 and over.
