By 1927, Jazz was an artform already in full swing and, one hundred years on, Bill Jones guides you on a fresh exploration of the songs associated with it, taking a special look at some who were born that year: Cleo Laine, Johnny Dankworth, Lee Konitz and Eartha Kitt. Whether or not you are new to our Joy of Jazz courses, there will be an opportunity to learn more about some of the great musicians of the genre, to appreciate the characteristics of jazz forms and to understand the background to the songs and development of the music through listening to great performances. Come and join in the journey through the story of jazz by singing great songs together in a jazz style and, in the process, develop your understanding of singing, and experience the joy and freedom of singing and improvising with others. There are no musical pre-requisites – simply a willingness to have a go!
