D101: Great Wine Rivers of the World

Wine Appreciation

Many of the world's great wine areas are situated alongside rivers. In this class we will look at wines from six regions greatly influenced by their rivers. Each night we will sample wines from a major wine region where a river runs like a vein through its grape growing areas. Rivers such as the Rhone, the Loire, the Duero, the Murray Darling, the Mosel and the great estuary of the Gironde. We will discover the grapes used in the each of these areas and find out what influences the rivers bring to bear on the wines produced. To cover the cost of samples there will be an additional charge of £8-£10 per person per night.
