This gentle introduction will offer an overview of the system – how it has evolved; how development plans are drawn up and decisions reached to approve or reject applications for planning consent; an opportunity to get to grips with a major current issue in the Govan area; a chance to role-play a planning committee meeting addressing a realistic case (simplified!); an overview of heritage and environmental concerns and place-making; and a chance to consider some limitations of the current system.
