Health and Wellbeing, **NEW for Academic Year 2026-2027**
This informative and engaging session is open to anyone interested in developing a greater understanding of what it is like to live with hearing loss, deafness, or tinnitus. It may be particularly beneficial for people who use hearing aids and would like to enhance their knowledge of hearing loss, hearing health, and effective communication strategies. During the session, explore how confident you feel communicating with someone who has hearing loss, deafness, or tinnitus, the importance of regular hearing health checks and the work of RNID and the support and services available to people affected by hearing loss. Discover the different types and causes of hearing loss, practical communication tips, information about hearing aids and assistive hearing technology and guidance on understanding and managing tinnitus. Learn more about the RNID's ongoing research work and support available through RNID Near You: our local support services - RNID
There is an option to take a 3 minute hearing check at the end of the session for a small number of participants.
These classes are aimed at those aged 50 and over.
