As a family researcher you will already be familiar with basic sources. You will progress to examining more advanced resources for Scotland, England and Ireland, including testaments, newspapers, land and property records. Explore different research methods and ways of recording your findings. Learn about paleography (old handwriting), heraldry and genetic genealogy. Visit an online archive or library resource. Comprehensive lists of printed and other resources supplied. The key textbook for this class is: Durie, Bruce ‘Scottish Genealogy’, 4th edition (2017), History Press.
