D400: ‘Know the Score’ with The Morning Choir - SOPRANOS (online via Zoom)

Cappella Nova Outreach

Kick-start your week in the company of – and in harmony with – other like-minded people. As usual, each meeting will begin with plenty of practical guidance on warming up the voice for singing, which we shall apply to singing a range of well-known songs together. We will also look at a selection of harmony songs from Mozart, Scottish, Popular, and help will be offered in navigating the musical scores of these. Please note this class comprises of 3 separate groups –Sopranos, (contr)altos and Men who will attend together weekly from 10.00-11.00am. PLEASE ENSURE YOU ENROL IN THE CORRECT CLASS. Every three weeks each group will continue with an extended guided learning session (for a further 30 minutes) to develop confidence in identifying and getting to know their own parts within the harmony songs, and then everything will be brought together in our very own ‘virtual choir’ performance!

Sopranos: extended sessions will be held on Mondays 5 and 26 October, 16 November and 7 December, 10.45-11.30am, with all other class meetings 10.00-10.45am. Where permissible, source materials will be posted in the class resource area within your MyCLL class homepage and further benefit will be derived from purchasing personal copies of the recommended copyright materials, which will cost no more than £10: in advance of the class commencing, the tutor will advise you of the details of these and the ordering procedure.
