D118: The Open Campus (undergraduate study for all), Criminal Law and Evidence

The Open Campus (undergraduate study for all)

We are delighted to offer this opportunity again this year to join undergraduate students in their first-year lectures and get a real flavour of what studying is like as an undergraduate student. The classes have been adapted for Open Campus students so there are no exams or assessments, providing intellectually stimulating opportunities to undertake non-accredited learning in collaboration with the Strathclyde Law School. The criminal law of Scotland is a unique, ancient, and fascinating system of rules, regulations, and traditions. Join us for a detailed insight into what makes something 'criminal', and the rules of evidence which govern how this can be prosecuted and defended in court. This module is a compulsory subject for undergraduate students in Law and is now also available to CLL students (without the assessable elements). No prior knowledge of the law is required.

A one-hour induction session will be held on Thursday 18 September at 11.00am in room GH752, level 7 of the Graham Hills Building in the Centre for Lifelong Learning, 40 George Street, Glasgow, G1 1QE after which all students will have access to weekly online videos to watch, prior to attending class on-campus each week. A full timetable will be provided at the Induction session.
