Cappella Nova Outreach
Kick-start your week in the company of - and in harmony with - other likeminded people. For mixed (male and female) voices, this is a rare opportunity to participate in a daytime choir in Glasgow. It is “open access” (there are no auditions), and practical guidance will be given on preparing the voice for singing and gaining a basic understanding of music notation. Participants who have previously sung in a group will derive the greatest benefit although, with the help of words/music sheets and sound files, we will learn to sing a wide range of accessible songs for informal performance, ranging from Age of Swing to songs from The Shows – from Burns and other Scottish songs to Folksongs from around the world.
Please be advised that there will be no class on Tuesday 4 &11 August.
CAPPELLA NOVA: As well as having built a reputation for the championship of early and new vocal music through performance, recording and international touring, the award-winning Scottish professional vocal ensemble Cappella Nova offers a wide range of training opportunities available to anybody who wants to enjoy the experience of group-singing and to develop their skills, from beginners upwards. Visit our website Outreach Page at https://cappella-nova.com/outreach/. We are delighted to consolidate our collaboration this year with the Centre for Lifelong Learning by offering further, unique opportunities for adults to engage with a broad range of music and musical experiences. The classes are open to adults of all ages.
These classes are aimed at those aged 50 and over.
