We are delighted to offer a new opportunity this year to join undergraduate students in their first-year Law lectures and get a real flavour of what studying is like as an undergraduate student. The classes have been adapted for Open Campus students so there are no exams, assessments or tutorials. They provide intellectually stimulating opportunities to undertake non-accredited learning in collaboration with the Strathclyde Law School. 

In this class we will consider the branch of Scots Law that deals with ‘persons’, which as you will learn covers ‘natural persons’ (i.e. human beings) and ‘legal persons’ (i.e. companies and the like). We will concentrate primarily on the law as it relates to natural persons in this class and consider legal issues arising from before birth through to after death, for example the parent/child relationship, adult intimate relationships, death and what happens to a person's property after death.

A full induction session will be held on Tuesday 15 September at 2pm in GH752, level 7, Graham Hills Building, 40 George Street, after which all students will have access to class materials and will attend class on campus each week. A full timetable will be provided at the induction session. This module is taught by two lectures a week over 10 weeks. Lectures will be held on Tuesdays 2-3pm and Thursdays 10-11am.
