No previous experience is needed - just an open mind and a passion for learning. Led by a friendly and experienced Deaf BSL tutor, and supported by an interpreter, each session offers a warm, inclusive environment where everyone is welcome. You’ll learn practical signing skills to help you communicate in everyday situations - such as greetings, introductions, numbers, and common phrases. Each lesson builds your confidence and fluency, while encouraging active participation. This course is about more than just language. You’ll also explore the fascinating history, values, and identity of the Deaf community. From understanding common communication barriers to learning how to create more accessible and inclusive spaces, you'll gain valuable insight into Deaf awareness and the importance of visual communication.
