D866: Conversational Japanese Advanced (online via Zoom)

Other Languages

This lively class is the ideal way to continue your language studies in an informal and relaxed way. If you are currently undertaking an in person language class with us, join this new online class to practise your speaking and listening skills. Alternatively, if you have not taken a formal class for some time this class will help you brush up on your oral skills. This advanced conversational class is suitable for those who are at B1/B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (or Stage 3/4 and above for classes taken at the CLL). Practise role-play situations likely to arise whilst travelling, describe experiences and events, and express your feelings and opinions on topics (e.g. tell an anecdote, recommend a film, etc.) The emphasis will be on conversation; however, listening and reading skills will be enhanced during this class. Points of grammar may be revised where appropriate. The classes will be taught online via Zoom in a friendly and welcoming environment designed to maximise the learning experience. The approach is interactive and students will practise speaking in small groups in break out rooms. This class can be taken alongside the accredited classes on campus or as a stand-alone class. There is no recommended textbook for this class.
