Welcome to the intricate world of drypoint etching, perfect for drawing enthusiasts and aspiring printmakers. This hands-on class offers a comprehensive exploration of the drypoint etching process, a key technique in intaglio printmaking, while also following the process through history, with the introduction of artists who worked using this process. This class emphasises the importance of drawing specifically for printmaking, guiding students to adapt their artistic visions for this unique medium. A significant focus will be placed on mastering mark-making techniques, crucial for the distinctive textures and tones in drypoint etching. The culmination of the class will be the creation of your own edition of prints.

Please note there is no class meeting on Friday 16 August. Students are responsible for purchasing their own materials.
