In Association with..., Lambhill Stables
This tour begins with a visit to the Coal, Cottages and Canals exhibition at Lambhill Stables which re-imagines the rows of the now-vanished miners’ cottages along the canal that were built to service the many coal and ironstone mines that sprang up in the 19th century. Then, take a trip east on our open-top boat along the canal towards Bishopbriggs where you will hear stories of life in the lost villages of Lochfauld, Mavis Valley and Jellyhill – and enjoy a leisurely contemplation of the transformation of the are into the vibrant green corridor that exists today.
Students with a disability should get in touch with the Centre directly prior to booking. Dress for the weather.
These classes are aimed at those aged 50 and over.
