D750: Impressionist Landscape Painting: beginner to intermediate

Drawing & Painting

Explore the great masters of Impressionist Landscapes before painting your own scene. Learn to paint a basic landscape by practicing classic Impressionist techniques. Guided talks, illustrations, and demonstrations will help you to create an emotive and individual painting unique to yourself. Practice techniques such as pointillism, optical colour mixing, and use of light. Tonal values, composition, and object essence will be demonstrated to make this an enriching creative experience. Short theoretical and historical lecture followed by practical illustrations. No previous experience necessary but some basic painting background would be beneficial.

Please note this workshop will be held over two consecutive days, Tuesday 16 and Wednesday 17 July, 10.00-16.00 with an hour for lunch. Students are responsible for purchasing their own materials.
